I don't angry too often. Honestly, I think I have a very high tolerance when it comes to getting pissed off. But there are two things tend to make me lose it (inside, usually). One is basically the time between waking up and 10 a.m. The other is getting molested by other boys (sean...). But the first is the most recent. My life functions on rhythm. I tend to make daily life a pattern, in terms of daily habits. Typical morning: wake up, shower, get dressed, change songs on mp3 player, pack packback, go to wright food court, eat my sausage egg and cheese (sometimes the bacon egg and cheese is more appropriate) and milk, and head to my first class. This is been working for me lately. But thanks to the slackers at the Flamingo Grill, this pattern is being destroyed.
For the first 2 weeks of school, Flamingo Grill has had pre-made breakfast sandwiches sitting and waiting to be picked up and eaten by lazy students. Both yesterday and today, they have not had sandwiches. Yesterday, I was running late (which is workng its way into my rhythm), and when there weren't any sandwiches, eating a quick bowl of cereal was in order. No big deal. I only had two classes that day, so not as much energy was needed. I can handle that. But today....oh man...Today I had my first real test. It was in Calc 2, so I wanted to do really well on it. I decided that in addition to studying a hell of a lot than I usually do for math tests, I would also eat a satisfying breakfast (e.g. more than cereal or a granola bar). I wanted a sausage egg and cheese.
So I walk up to Flamingo's Grill, and sure enough they don't have any pre-made. BUT, I can see them being made on the grill. Woot! I'll just wait and get one once they're made. Well there was a line, so I waited behind the two people in front of me. I saw they were making 3 sandwiches (I know cos I've there before), so I think "great, one two three, the third is mine." NO. First person got his, and the bastard second person took TWO. No fair! I wanted my sausage egg and chese, dammit. So I do what people do at 2am when I work there and asked for one to be made. The employee, who soon became obviously new at his job, said it would take about 10 minutes. I said I don't have that much time, so I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. Not the sandwich I was hoping for, but a good breakfast nontheless. He puts the eggs and bacon on the plate and asks what kind of toast I wanted. I said white and he goes and puts it in the toaster. Well, from there the employee apparantely things his job is done. My plate with eggs and bacon sat there for what must have been 7 minutes waiting for the toast. I looked over the toaster, and I saw 4 pieces of tosted bread sitting there, and when someone else went and grabbed them, I thought oh good that's my toast I can eat now. NO, it goes to someone else (I believe I was passed on the toast line). I finally asked the wandering newly employeed Flamingo Grillian who took my order if my toast was ready yet. He goes "OH!" and went and got my toast. Finally I can eat, but having lost about 8 and a half minutes, I'm in a pretty shitty mood.
Ok, long story, an dI know it's really stupid. It has the whiney qualities of a Seinfeld episode i know, I'm sorry. What really surprised me, though, was how angry I was (inside, not outside). I really couldn't believe how short my temper was. Again, I blame the pre-10a.m.-ness of it all, but nonetheless. I was boiling (inside).
That'll do it for me
